Wellbeing at Riverside

Happy children learn best. Our pastoral care is built on the simple principle that every pupil should be known well by the adults who look after them. We work hard to create a culture in which young people feel safe, supported and able to be themselves.

Our House System

Every pupil belongs to one of our four houses, which provide a smaller community within the school and a focus for friendly competition, charity work and celebration throughout the year.

• Avon — represented by the colour blue
• Severn — represented by the colour green
• Trent — represented by the colour red
• Wye — represented by the colour gold

Support for Every Student

Our dedicated pastoral team works alongside form tutors, the school counsellor and our special educational needs department to make sure that help is always close at hand. Support available to pupils includes:

• A form tutor who sees their group every day
• Heads of Year who oversee each year group
• Confidential access to a trained school counsellor
• A well-resourced learning support department
• A clear, kind approach to behaviour and relationships
