Our Story<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Founded in 1924, Riverside Academy began life as a small grammar school of just sixty pupils. A century on, we are proud to educate over a thousand young people while holding firmly to our founding belief: that an excellent education should be open to all, and should develop character as well as the mind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the decades the school has grown and changed, but our commitment to academic ambition, personal development and service to others has remained constant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our Ethos<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

At Riverside we believe that education is about far more than examinations. We want our pupils to leave us as thoughtful, resilient and compassionate citizens who are equipped to thrive in a fast-changing world and to contribute positively to the communities around them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We hold high expectations of behaviour, effort and respect, and we work in close partnership with parents and carers to help every young person succeed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Message from the Headteacher<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It is a privilege to lead Riverside Academy. Walk through our corridors and you will find purposeful, happy classrooms, pupils who are kind to one another, and staff who are deeply committed to getting the best from every child.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is no substitute for seeing the school for yourself, and I warmly encourage you to visit us at one of our open events. You will always be made very welcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
